Our Beginning
The Texas Club began in the 1960s as a private residence before Dale Robertson transformed it into an exclusive clubhouse in the early 1970s. In 1974, Wayne Wood opened it to the public as a steakhouse, establishing the foundation for the Texas Club we know today. Through generations of ownership, Chef Linda Kelso and others helped shape its signature food and hospitality, while preserving the traditions and character that have made it a Ruidoso favorite for decades.

Through the years, ownership evolved, but the heart of Texas Club never changed. Chef Linda Kelso helped shape the signature menu and warm hospitality that became synonymous with the restaurant, while new ownership in 2005 continued investing in the guest experience without losing the character, traditions, and timeless charm that have made Texas Club a local favorite for decades.
